The Great Baekje Festival in Gongju....take 2

I went back to the Great Baekje Festival again today, this time with Nikki. Armed with a thick brochure, we were able to see more festivities this time.

We found the "Baekje Village" inside the fortress where they were grinding grain and exploding it to make a delicious puffed snack.

Outside the fortress we went to the Chestnut festival with stall after stall of people selling fresh and roasted chestnuts. A Korean woman took us under her wing and ensured that we got as many chestnuts as possible. She told us, "Today, you will not have dinner. Instead, you will have chestnuts."

After she left us, we bought a bag of roasted chestnuts and munched on us while listening to live music.

Back in the fortress we walked the fortress wall in the dark and saw the lanterns floating on the river below.

We had some vague directions on how to get to the parade, so we headed in that direction....and walked...and walked...and walked....and found it!
